ESTHER Outreach - Elementary Involvement for Thanksgiving

As we are entering this season of Thankfulness, we at OSOTA believe that it is a time to remember others and thank God for our blessings. With this in mind, we are doing an outreach for our local community to help those in need.

We are working with Esther (Single Mother Outreach) to provide Thanksgiving bags with meals for single mothers in the community.

The project involves the kids making a turkey out of their hands, attaching the turkey to a paper bag—maybe writing encouraging words on their hands (their hands are the turkeys back feathers). If the kids are able to put food items in the bag (we have provided a suggested list), that would help E.S.T.H.E.R. assist single mother families who desire to prepare a Thanksgiving meal for their kids. This is especially helpful as schools are usually out beginning Wednesday of that week and return on Monday. Most of the families we assist are on the hot meals program.

Our goal is to fill 200 bags! I know that we can do this!

Let's do our part and take this time to discuss how we can show God's love through our tangible actions.

Turkey bags and food due back by Wednesday November 11, 2015.
