Application Process
Step 1: Review Enrollment Standards
One School of the Arts & Sciences + Wonder Academy is an acceptance-based school. Completing an application does not secure your seat. Please read the steps to apply and expectations for review here:
Step 2: Apply
The application process serves the purpose of evaluating families' commitment and willingness to support Wonder Academy + One School of the Arts & Sciences' academic and spiritual goals as a private Christian school.
Step 3: Complete the Checklist in finalsite Portal
Upload a recent family photograph (This can be an informal selfie if need be)
Submit a video displaying your passions or interests as it pertains to your desire to attend One School
Select the Virtual Group Q&A date to attend via Zoom
Upload your scholar’s most recent Report Card & Progress Report
Upload scholar’s most recent Standardized Test
Submit the Online Recommendation Request Form to a teacher, coach, or pastor via the FinalSite portal.
Schedule an Academic Evaluation. All K-3rd applicants must schedule an evaluation, and anyone who does not have a standardized test to upload. NOTE: Others may be asked to schedule an evaluation on a case-by-case basis. Evaluation takes place on campus and is administered by appointment.
Step 4: Family Interview
Once your checklist is complete, you’ll notice a “Ready for Family Interview” button in your FinalSite parent portal. This is your opportunity to let us know the days of the week and times that work best for your family.
Not every family will be selected for a Family Interview right away—our admissions team prayerfully reviews each application before extending invitations. If your family is chosen, we’ll personally reach out to schedule a time that aligns with your availability.
The Family Interview is a joyful and meaningful step in the admissions journey. It’s a time for your family to meet with our Head of School, share your story, and discover more about the heart behind One School. At least one parent (preferably both) should attend with their scholar.
During the interview, we’ll:
Review your scholar’s application, report cards, and standardized test results
Discuss school policies and expectations—both academic and spiritual
Explore what partnership looks like between your family and our school community
(For Middle & High School families) Learn about course offerings and the registration process
After the Family Interview, our review board will meet one final time to prayerfully consider acceptance decisions.
Keep in mind that our admissions is competitive and space is limited. As grade levels reach capacity, applicants will be placed in a wait pool.
The One School Wait Pool
At our school, we believe in creating a community where each scholar can thrive academically, socially, and spiritually. The wait pool is designed to help us maintain a balanced and supportive environment. It's not just a numerical list but a thoughtful process that prioritizes both the needs of the school and the best fit for each applicant.
When a class reaches its capacity, we carefully assess the specific requirements and dynamics of that class. We carefully consider many factors and other elements that contribute to a well-rounded and harmonious classroom environment. This ensures that we maintain an optimal teacher-to-scholar ratio and foster an atmosphere conducive to learning and personal growth.
Applicants in the wait pool are then evaluated based on how well they align with the unique needs and goals of the classroom at that particular time should space become available. While academic achievement is crucial, we also take into account the scholar's character, extracurricular involvement, and alignment with our Christian values.
It's important to note that being placed in the wait pool doesn't solely depend on when an application is received; rather, it depends on the holistic assessment of the applicant's compatibility with the existing school community and its current needs. We communicate openly with families in the wait pool, keeping them informed about the process and providing updates as the situation evolves.
Nondiscriminatory Policy
One School admits scholars of any race, color, nationality, and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to scholars at the school. It does not discriminate in the administration of its educational policies, admission policies, athletic, and other school administrative programs.
