Scholar Spotlight : Mrs. Rice's 6th and 8th Grade Class

We would like to spotlight the scholars who have been a part of Mrs. Heather Rice's  6th and 8th Grade Service Expedition Projects.  Read more about all the service projects here.

Our amazing 6th grade and 8th grade scholars are participating in service learning expedition projects that have them organizing and implementing outreach activities for a charity of their choice. This week our 8th grade scholars have also fed two families for the holidays and have given back by raising money for their various causes. Today, school is out but one group of our 6th grade scholars will be blessing nurses at the hospital with hand made gift baskets of goodies. Another group will be headed out to decorate a nursing home dining hall with beautiful fresh flower arrangements and handmade cards. Next week our scholars are participating in a Breast Cancer outreach, volunteering in animal shelters and planning programs for Teen Challenge, as well as participating in random acts of kindness. We hope this little video clip of two of our 6th grade scholars giving back to the Atlamonte Springs Police Department inspires you to take part in community service projects this holiday season, because giving blesses you more than any gift you can receive.
